Planning update 

St William submitted our revised planning application to Brighton & Hove City Council in November 2023. The plans were refined from our previous application based on feedback from a wide range of stakeholders including Brighton & Hove City Council and the local community.

Key changes to the previous application include:

  • Plans for 495 homes –70 less than the 565 previously planned
  • Redesigned architecture and reduced height of buildings in the north of the site
  • Enhanced environmental sustainability measures, including adding solar panels site wide
  • Extra staircases to respond to new fire requirements
  • New strategy documents setting out how we will safely remediate the site

We remain committed to working to provide 40% (198) of the homes for affordable rent and Shared Ownership in partnership with a Registered Provider with Homes England funding.

We expect the application to be decided by a meeting of the Council’s Planning Committee in 2024.
